POSITION: Senior Database Platform Engineer
WORKSITE: 6300 Bee Cave Road Building One, Austin, TX 78746
DUTIES: Engineer and administer high availability solutions for SQL Server (Always on Availability Groups on multi-subnet failover clusters), PostgreSQL, MongoDB (replica sets and sharded clusters), and Snowflake (multi-region accounts with failover configurations). Engineer security and authentication frameworks for SQL Server (Windows/SQL authentication, CIS Benchmark compliance), MongoDB (LDAP authentication), PostgreSQL (role-based access controls), and Snowflake (OAuth 2.0 client authentication). Database maintenance operations, and monitoring integration with DPA, SolarWinds, and Sentry to ensure documented RPO/RTO compliance and uptime for enterprise applications. Develop reusable Terraform modules and Ansible playbooks using Python and PowerShell integration for baseline standard enforcement, network configuration automation, secure data sharing implementation, and consistent deployment patterns reducing provisioning time across development, staging, and production environments. Engineer Central Management Server (CMS) infrastructure and inventory management systems using Python and PowerShell scripting to automatically discover, register, and track SQL Server instances, PostgreSQL clusters, MongoDB deployments, and multiple Snowflake accounts with enabling centralized policy-based management. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to database team while serving as escalation point of contact for advanced troubleshooting, collaborating verbally with multiple business departments, application development teams, infrastructure groups, and executive stakeholders. May work from a home office where Dimensional has an office in California, Texas, or North Carolina. #LI-DNI
