QC technician trainee-2

We are looking for a detail oriented Quality Control Lab Technician to join our Ketjen Bayport facility.

The QC Day Tech serves as an experienced technical resource, trainer, and operational support partner for the QC organization.  This role is designed to strengthen laboratory capability through technical expertise, employee development, cross-functional support, and active participation in key operational and strategic initiatives.

Successful candidates must possess the experience, flexibility, and commitment necessary to contribute immediately while supporting both routine laboratory operations and special business needs.  The role requires an individual who can effectively balance daily laboratory responsibilities with training, project assignments, continuous improvement efforts, and operational support activities.  Additionally, the individual must be willing to support alternative work schedules, including temporary assignment to a DuPont shift schedule, when business conditions or staffing requirements necessitate such support.

Primary Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned analytical techniques and/or performance tests on catalysts and related samples

• Track control sample data for quality assurance purposes.

• Document data and make it accessible to customers

• Analytical/ Performance evaluation procedures are executed according to the SOP to guarantee consistency in own work

• Assigned work is scheduled according to priority (as communicated) to maximize efficiency

• Routine maintenance and calibration of instruments are done proactively in a timely fashion to ensure minimal downtime

• Housekeeping of the lab is exemplary and work is carried out safely

• Adhere to all safety, legal, and corporate policies

• Proactively escalate identified issues in safety, data quality, execution of methods by the team to appropriate partners and/or group leadership

• Perform safely the assigned tests, including sample preparation where applicable.

• Perform the administrative tasks associated with the analysis.

• Perform routine maintenance of instruments.

• Participate in general good housekeeping of the lab.

• Actively participate in the safety program of the site and R&D

• Record the results in a database, if data transfer is not automated.

• Perform specific general tasks in the lab as assigned.

• Basic data validation

Required Qualifications

• Candidate must currently hold a QC Technician II position and be fully trained and qualified in all core QC Technician II responsibilities.
• Candidate must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of QC processes, laboratory equipment, systems, and workflows, enabling effective support of daily laboratory operations with minimal supervision.
• Candidate must be willing, capable, and effective in training, coaching, and onboarding new hires and existing employees on QC procedures, expectations, and best practices.
• Candidate must possess the technical proficiency, leadership presence, and communication skills necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities of the role on Day 1, maximizing the impact and effectiveness of the position.
• Candidate must work the established 7-day, 12-hour Day Tech schedule operating on a 4/5/5 rotation.
• Candidate must maintain the flexibility to temporarily return to and support a DuPont shift schedule when required to meet staffing, training, business continuity, or operational demands.
• Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to supporting non-routine laboratory activities, special assignments, continuous improvement initiatives, and project work as directed by the QC Manager and QC Leadership Team.
• Candidate must exhibit adaptability and a willingness to support both routine and non-routine work activities as business needs evolve.
• Candidate must serve as a technical resource for the QC organization by providing troubleshooting support, knowledge sharing, cross-training, and mentoring to improve overall team capability and effectiveness.
• Candidate must demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for operational improvement, employee development, and enhanced laboratory performance.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to work in a chemical laboratory, which requires standing for 50% or more of the time

• Must be able to physically operate lab equipment

• Must be able to lift and carry 15-20 pounds
