The buildings schools, hospitals, federal facilities and correctional institutions use consume enormous amounts of energy every day. An energy conservation company is looking for a Project Development Engineer II who can walk into those facilities, audit every mechanical system from HVAC to water management and engineer solutions that drive down costs and carbon footprint across the built environment.
You will lead on-site surveys and energy audits across K-12 schools, higher education, federal, corrections and healthcare facilities, develop scopes of work, manage projects from concept through completion and mentor junior engineers while driving decarbonization across new construction and complex retrofits.
What you need to bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related science field
- Experience in energy auditing, ESCO or utility industry background strongly preferred
- Proficiency auditing HVAC, domestic water, process water, steam and building envelope systems
- Strong project management and energy calculation skills
- Located in the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast region. North Carolina or north preferred
- Willingness to travel 75% of the time with hands on field aptitude
- EIT, PE, CEM, LEED, PMP or CWEP certification preferred
- Prior construction industry experience is a plus
