The opportunity
Hitachi Energy is on an exciting growth journey. We are investing over EUR 170 million to build a new production and technology center in Vikby, Mustasaari. The upcoming Hitachi Energy Park will feature a top-notch transformer factory and modern office and testing facilities, which will double the company’s production and testing capacity of transformers in Finland. The Hitachi Energy Park Production and Technology Center is expected to be operational by early 2027.
We are now looking for a Testing Specialist at Hitachi Energy, Transformers business in Vaasa. You will be performing routine, type and special tests on power transformers and reactors in accordance with electrical safety regulations, standards, technical specifications and test procedures. In this position, you are typically in close contact with customers from all over the world during factory acceptance tests.

How you’ll make an impact
- Managing, planning and performing routine, type and special tests on power transformers up to 400MVA, 420kV and reactors up to 200MVAr, 420kV.
- Leading factory acceptance tests together with project managers in close contact with customers
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
Your background
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in electrical engineering
- Basic knowledge of electrical properties of power transformers and reactors
- Strong organizing skills, good problem-solving ability and ability to manage multiple tasks
- The ability to work in teams and good proactive communication skills.
- Self-motivated and customer-oriented
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and Finnish. Fluency in other languages is considered an advantage.
- Willingness to work in two shifts, evening shift appr. every 3-4 weeks
- A natural desire for continuous improvement
- A flexible approach to unexpected situations
