Description

At Bristol Myers Squibb, our employees often ask, “Who are you working for?”—a question that fuels collaboration, accountability, and urgency in our work. Our purpose-driven culture inspires us to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines to prevail over serious diseases. We offer uniquely interesting and meaningful work, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits. This is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it.

Every day, people come to work here and go home safe. That's partly down to you.

At Bristol Myers Squibb, we're in the business of saving lives but none of that matters if the people doing the work aren't protected, supported and set up to thrive. That's where you come in.

We're looking for an Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Coordinator to join our Moreton site - someone who takes genuine pride in keeping people safe, protecting the environment and making sure we live up to the standards we set ourselves.

This isn't a box-ticking role. It's a role where your actions have a direct, visible impact on the people around you, every single day.

So, what will you actually be doing?

You'll be the person colleagues turn to when something goes wrong and the reason fewer things go wrong in the first place.

You'll coordinate our incident and near-miss reporting process, making sure issues are logged, investigated, and - most importantly - learned from. Using our Intelex platform, you'll track corrective actions through to completion, so nothing slips through the cracks. In a practical sense? You'll be the reason someone's near-miss today doesn't become an injury tomorrow.

You'll own the systems that keep safety running smoothly behind the scenes.

From administering our control management safety programme (Velocity) to managing EHS databases and our BMS EHS Management System Platform, you'll be the engine that keeps our safety infrastructure humming. You'll know your way around BMS DOCs and SuccessFactors, and you'll take real ownership of making sure our training content is current, accessible, and actually completed by the right people. The tangible gain for you? You'll build deep expertise across enterprise-grade EHS platforms - skills that are genuinely sought-after across the industry.

You'll shape how the whole site thinks and talks about safety.

You'll lead our targeted EHS communications programme, champion key safety events, and drive initiatives that reflect both our site strategy and the wider BMS global approach. This is your chance to influence culture - not just compliance. People will know who you are and why what you do matters.

You'll support the ergonomics of real people in real workplaces.

Scheduling and coordinating ergonomic assessments via Ergopoint, you'll help ensure that colleagues' day-to-day working environment doesn't cost them their long-term health. It's one of those responsibilities that feels quiet - until you realise the person who avoided a musculoskeletal injury five years from now might have you to thank.

You'll help keep contractors safe — even when they're not permanent members of the team.

Supporting the administration and spot verification of our contractor safety programme, including work permits and risk assessments, means you'll play a key role in extending our safety culture beyond our own workforce. That's a broad remit and great experience.

You'll contribute to something bigger than the site itself.

Assisting with our ESG and sustainability reporting, including waste reduction and other environmental initiatives, means your work feeds into BMS's global sustainability commitments. You'll gain hands-on experience with real corporate ESG reporting - increasingly one of the most valued skill sets in modern business.

What's in it for you?

Let's be direct about this. Here's what you'll genuinely gain:

  • Marketable, cross-functional expertise - You'll work across multiple enterprise systems (Intelex, Velocity, Ergopoint, SuccessFactors) and develop a broad, practical EHS skill set that opens doors across pharma, biotech, and beyond
  • Real sustainability impact - Your contributions to ESG reporting and environmental initiatives feed into BMS's global commitments, giving you direct exposure to corporate sustainability at scale
  • A platform to grow - Sitting within a wider EHSS team at a globally recognised pharmaceutical company, you'll have the mentorship, resources, and strategic support to develop your career meaningfully
  • Visibility and influence - This role puts you at the centre of site-wide communications, events and culture-shaping initiatives. You won't be invisible here
  • Work that genuinely matters - Helping ensure that every person who comes through our doors goes home safe isn't just a job responsibility. It's something worth being proud of

You'll thrive in this role if you…

  • Take ownership and follow things through to completion
  • Communicate clearly and confidently across different levels of a business
  • Are comfortable with systems and databases or excited to learn them
  • Care about doing things the right way, not just the easy way
  • Want to grow your EHS career within a company that takes safety and sustainability seriously

Ready to make your mark?

If you're looking for a role where you can build real expertise, see the tangible difference your work makes, and be part of a team that genuinely cares - we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now and take the next step in a career that protects people and the planet.

We hire for skills and capabilities, not just credentials – if this role excites you, but doesn’t perfectly match your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
