ROLE SUMMARY
Global Business Services (GBS) is Pfizer’s global engine for shared business services — Procurement, Financial Services, Global HR Services, Transformation and Project Management.
Roughly 2,000 colleagues deliver these capabilities in service of Pfizer’s purpose: Breakthroughs that Change Patients’ Lives.
This leader is accountable for the operations of the Enterprise Travel & Meetings Services, including establishment and oversight of companywide travel & meeting policies, functional ownership of travel & meeting and My Anti-Corruption Policy and Procedures (MAPP) processes, supporting systems and operations:
- Assure strategic alignment with the core functions to deliver on their current and future business needs to achieve the Pfizer Blueprint
- Determine operating model, budget, and resource allocation to deliver on the team’s remit and commitments
- Design and implement end to end processes where relevant leveraging emerging technologies and approaches to drive simplification, outstanding colleague experience and an appropriate cost structure
- Interpret industry trends impacting Pfizer and develop innovative strategies and approaches to maximize the benefits or mitigate the risks as applicable for the services delivered
- Lead, manage, direct, develop and coach direct reports and extended team to create a high performing global organization with best-in-class talent
- Engage effectively across GBS functions, Business Leaders and Enabling Functions to execute on critical enterprise initiatives and interdependencies
The role requires close collaboration with other senior leaders to implement transformational business strategies that drive value.
This is a new standalone tower created as GBS moves from seven process areas to five, carved out of the former Enterprise Services structure to focus exclusively on HCP engagement, MAPP compliance, meetings, travel, and corporate card administration.
Today's GBS market bar: The bar has moved past travel-category management: compliance ownership of a regulated engagement process is now the differentiator. This leader consolidates suppliers across agencies and event planners with a measured result, manages reporting obligations attached to HCP engagement, sets a global T&E policy that holds up across markets, and manages meetings spend through demand-side levers rather than rate negotiation alone.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery Enablement
- Establish and maintain all relevant global T&E policies and procedures relevant to the area and related compliance activities.
- Build and maintain key organizational enablersIncluding , professional development tools and communications channels.
- Drive functional ownership and deployment of enabling systems and tools to deliver on strategic objectives.
My Anticorruption Policy and Procedure (MAPP)
- Accountable for end-to-end process for MAPP activities inclusive of HCP engagements, operations, and compliance activities.
- Global owner for process design & architecture and performance management serving as the single point of accountability for delivery of organizational objectives; responsible for developing and delivering on global process strategic transformation
- Proactively monitor cross-functional and enterprise wide initiatives that impact people, processes and technology to ensure alignment, maintain agility and mitigate disruption to the MAPP process areas through frequent communication with business partners
- Manage the relationship with key stakeholders including, but not limited to Corporate Compliance, Corporate Audit, Digital, and Commercial Operations identifying opportunities for collaboration and ensuring improvements are actively sought and implemented
- Create a culture focused on continuous improvement, internal controls and compliance; lead the maintenance of an effective internal control structure ensuring compliance with Pfizer policy
Global Travel & Meetings
- Accountable for end-to-end process for travel and meeting activities inclusive of meeting planning and execution and related business processes, operations, and compliance activities.
- Scope is inclusive of transient travel, internal meetings, external meetings, congresses and conventions involving Pfizer colleagues and sponsored HCP’s.
- As applicable, scope includes virtual and live meetings.
Critical activities and functions include:
- Ownership of global travel & meeting related policies and procedures
- Supplier Management for travel and meeting partners (e.g., travel agencies, event planners)
- Oversight and administration of company corporate card programs`
- Meeting planning and execution in coordination with and in support of the core functions requirements including budget administration
- Exhibits and on-site meeting support as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- MBA preferred
- 15+ years relevant business experience required
- Previous work in managing in a large complex environment at a global scale
- Proven success in leading highly skilled professionals who are leaders of leaders.
- Strong knowledge of Compliance activities related to HCP engagements
- Strong knowledge of Travel and Meeting, T&E processes, policies and procedures
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
