Join our team as an Administrative Assistant in the Liberty County Board of Commissioners' office, where you'll be an important first point of contact for member of the public visiting or contacting the main office. You'll also provide administrative support to the County Administration department and help ensure the office operates efficiently and professionally.

JOB SUMMARY
The Liberty County Board of Commissioners is seeking dependable, professional candidates for the full-time position of Administrative Assistant in the County Administration department. This position provides clerical, customer service, claims handling, and public information support for the department.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance to ensure a helpful experience for the public.
- Received, processes, and coordinates open records requests, working with County departments to gather responsive records and ensure requests are handled accurately and timely.
- Maintains the County vehicle, buildings, and equipment database.
- Maintains insurance coverage for County vehicles; purchases new vehicle tags; processes yearly undercover tags.
- Coordinates and processes property and casualty insurance claims on behalf of the County.
- Develops and produces marketing and news material related to newsletters and social media posts for release to the various media platforms.
- Monitors department website for needed changes and modifications.
- Assists with preparation of Commissioners packets and meeting materials.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail for the Administration department.
- Maintains office supply inventory; reorders as needed.
- Processes vouchers for vehicle repairs and insurance matters.
- Files yearly reports.
- Versed in the duties and functions of the Executive Assistant.
- Performs related duties.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and functions.
- Knowledge of public relations methods and techniques.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping.
- The employee occasionally lifts light objects.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree in a course of study related to the occupational field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience required.
SALARY, SCHEDULE, AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position with a starting salary range of $42,800 - $44,500 depending on qualifications and experience. The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Some extra hours may be required. The Board of Commissioner's office is located in the Courthouse Annex in downtown, Hinesville.
