Overview
The Second Shift Mail Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the afternoon/evening operations of a high-volume mail production facility. This position supervises a team of up to eight employees performing inbound mail processing, document scanning and imaging, print production, and outbound mail preparation.
The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring daily production requirements are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining established quality, security, and safety standards. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to coach employees and resolve production issues in a deadline-driven environment.

Hourly Compensation: $23.00 - $24.00
Hours: Monday through Friday, 1:00pm – 11:00pm (Hours may vary throughout second shift)
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, direct, and support a second-shift production team of up to eight employees.
- Coordinate daily workflow and assign employees based on production volume, priorities, staffing, and deadlines.
- Oversee the opening, sorting, preparation, and scanning of incoming mail and documents.
- Ensure scanned documents meet established image quality, indexing, and processing standards.
- Oversee print production, including the printing, preparation, insertion, metering, and mailing of outbound correspondence.
- Monitor production throughout the shift and adjust staffing or workflow as needed to meet service-level and completion requirements.
- Perform quality-control checks and ensure employees follow established procedures and client requirements.
- Troubleshoot routine equipment, workflow, and production issues and escalate problems when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate production counts, shift reports, quality records, and other required documentation.
- Train and coach employees on operating procedures, equipment, quality expectations, and productivity standards.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and address attendance, conduct, and performance concerns in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure proper handling and protection of confidential and sensitive documents.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and professional production environment.
- Coordinate with first-shift leadership to ensure effective shift handoffs, communication of priorities, and resolution of outstanding work.
- Communicate production status, staffing issues, equipment problems, and other operational concerns to management.
- Assist directly with production activities when necessary to meet deadlines or respond to unexpected workload.
- Support continuous-improvement efforts designed to improve productivity, quality, accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or additional education preferred.
- Previous experience in a production, mail processing, document imaging, print, fulfillment, or similar operations environment preferred.
- Previous supervisory, team lead, or other demonstrated leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to lead employees in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Comfortable using computers and learning production, scanning, print, and workflow software.
- Ability to prioritize multiple production requirements and respond effectively to changing workloads.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work the assigned afternoon/evening schedule.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive production tasks as needed.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move mail trays, paper, supplies, and packages weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work around production printers, scanners, inserters, postage equipment, and other mail-processing equipment.
