The Bistro Bar operates with a small, two-person team during evening service. Team members are expected to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and share responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including guest service, food preparation, beverage service, cash handling, dishwashing, cleaning, stocking, and closing procedures.
PM Bistro Bartender / Food & Beverage Associate
Location: Glenwood Springs, CO

Position Summary
The PM Bistro Bartender /Cook/ Food & Beverage Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality while overseeing evening food and beverage operations within the Bistro Bar. The ideal candidate is guest-focused, self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing both front-of-house and back-of-house responsibilities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
The PM Bistro operates with a small, two-person team during evening service. Team members are expected to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and share responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including guest service, food preparation, beverage service, cash handling, dishwashing, cleaning, stocking, and closing procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Guest Service & Hospitality
Provide warm, professional, and engaging service to all guests.
Maintain a positive attitude and create an inviting atmosphere for guests.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all food, beverage, wine, beer, cocktail, coffee, and retail offerings.
Assist guests with menu selections and answer questions regarding ingredients and preparation methods.
Follow up with guests throughout service to ensure satisfaction.
Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
Food & Beverage Operations
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, brand standards, and guest preferences.
Prepare food items according to approved recipes, use records, and presentation standards.
Maintain established service time goals
Ensure all dine-in orders are delivered with appropriate utensils and condiments.
Package to-go orders with all necessary disposable service ware.
Deliver food and beverage orders accurately and professionally.
Bar Operations
Set up, stock, and maintain all bar stations before, during, and after service.
Prepare garnishes, mixers, wines, beers, and spirits for service.
Ensure glassware is clean, polished, organized, and fully stocked.
Operate espresso and specialty beverage equipment as required.
Monitor alcohol consumption and practice responsible alcohol service.
Maintain compliance with all local, state, and company alcohol service regulations.
Properly store, label, rotate, and preserve wines and spirits.
Lock and secure all alcohol inventory at the conclusion of service.
Cash Handling & POS Operations
Operate MICROS and other point-of-sale systems accurately.
Process cash, credit card, and electronic transactions.
Balance and reconcile assigned cash drawer.
Complete required shift reports, tip reports, and end-of-day paperwork.
Maintain proper cash security and deposit procedures.
Opening Responsibilities
Complete all PM Bistro opening procedures prior to service.
Set up cash drawer and POS equipment.
Prepare kitchen, bar, dining room, and service stations.
Verify all food, beverage, and retail inventory is adequately stocked.
Complete required food safety and temperature logs.
Prepare sanitizer stations and dishwashing equipment.
Ensure all cooking equipment, refrigeration units, and beverage equipment are operational.
Set up dining room ambiance, including music, televisions, menus, and table settings.
Service Period Responsibilities
Maintain inventory levels and replenish supplies throughout service.
Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards are continuously maintained.
Wash dishes and restock service items as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready Bistro environment.
Communicate inventory shortages or operational concerns to management.
Closing Responsibilities
Complete all PM Bistro closing procedures.
Restock food, beverage, and bar inventory for the following day.
Clean and sanitize all kitchen, bar, dining room, and beverage service areas.
Properly shut down kitchen and bar equipment.
Complete end-of-shift cash reconciliation and reporting.
Secure all alcohol inventory, cash, keys, and company assets.
Report maintenance issues, equipment concerns, and reorder needs.
Complete all required closing documentation and filing procedures.
Food Safety & Sanitation
Follow all local health department regulations and company food safety standards.
Maintain proper food temperatures and complete required documentation.
Ensure sanitizer solutions are maintained and refreshed according to policy.
Clean and sanitize all food contact surfaces, equipment, utensils, and workstations.
Maintain cleanliness of dining room, kitchen, bar, storage areas, and guest spaces.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous bartending, restaurant, hotel, café, or food and beverage experience preferred.
Experience operating POS systems and handling cash transactions preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of beverage preparation, garnishing, and service techniques.
Knowledge of food preparation and food safety practices.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Basic math and cash handling skills.
Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
Certifications
TIPS Certification preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of hire. (Company will provide)
Food Handler Certification preferred or must be obtained as required by local regulations.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to bend, reach, lift, push, and pull throughout shift.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Ability to safely operate kitchen and bar equipment.
Ability to work in varying temperatures, including refrigerated storage areas and hot kitchen environments.
Work Environment
Primarily indoor hospitality environment.
Frequent interaction with guests, vendors, and team members.
Exposure to kitchen equipment, cleaning chemicals, and food preparation areas.
Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required.
