Manager, Insurance

About the opportunity 

We are looking for an experienced Manager to join our growing US consulting team. You will lead teams delivering complex strategic, operational and transformational engagements, working closely with senior clients to define problems, align stakeholders, and turn recommendations into measurable outcomes. You will also play an active role in developing our people, shaping propositions, and growing trusted client relationships. 

What you will be doing 

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of complex client engagements, with accountability for scope, workplan, quality, risks, team performance and client outcomes. 

• Shape approaches to ambiguous business problems and guide teams through analysis, solution design, and implementation planning. 

• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, facilitate decision-making, and communicate clear, evidence-based recommendations. 

• Lead multidisciplinary teams, creating clarity and momentum while maintaining high standards of delivery and an inclusive team environment. 

• Coach and develop consultants, providing timely feedback, stretch opportunities and support for their career growth. 

• Support implementation so that recommendations translate into practical, sustainable change and tangible client benefits. 

• Contribute to business development through proposals, account development, market insight, and the creation of reusable capabilities and assets. 

• Collaborate across Baringa to bring the right sector, capability and technology expertise to each client challenge. 

Your skills and experience 

We are looking for an experienced Manager with typically 5+ years of relevant consulting experience. The strongest candidates will have led project teams, managed complex workstreams or engagements, built trusted senior client relationships, and contributed to business development. 

• A strong foundation in management or strategy consulting, with experience delivering complex client work. 

• Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to structure ambiguous issues and turn analysis into clear recommendations. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create concise, compelling client materials. 

• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams in dynamic, client-facing environments. 

• Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to solving problems. 

• A commitment to developing others and contributing positively to an inclusive, people-first culture. 

• Willingness to travel to client sites as engagement needs require. 

• A track record of managing teams and maintaining delivery quality across complex engagements. 

• Experience developing senior stakeholder relationships and contributing to proposals or account growth. 

• Experience in one or more of Baringa’s sectors or capabilities, with the ability to connect sector context to broader strategic and transformational issues. 

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
