Senior Decision Support Analyst

About the Role

The Senior Decision Support Analyst provides financial and operational analysis, to assist in business decisions, identify issues, and support all levels of management throughout University Hospital. This position will maintain University Hospital’s decision support systems, including the cost accounting, contract management, and data analytics applications, ensuring effective and timely updates of applications and data. In addition, this position will perform data integrity analysis, and develop dashboards and reports to measure and trend key performance metrics and present results in an analytical manner. Reports to the Manager of Decision Support and collaborates closely with other members of the HealthCare Finance team.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Provides financial and operational analysis to support informed business decision-making across University Hospital.
• Identifies trends, opportunities, and operational issues while delivering insights to leadership at all levels.
• Maintains and supports decision support systems, including cost accounting, contract management, and data analytics applications.
• Ensures timely and accurate updates of system applications and underlying data.
• Performs data integrity reviews to validate the accuracy and reliability of reporting information.
• Develops dashboards, reports, and analytical tools to monitor, measure, and trend key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Presents complex financial and operational data in a clear, actionable, and analytical format.
• Supports strategic planning, performance improvement initiatives, and organizational objectives.
• Reports directly to the Manager of Decision Support.
• Collaborates closely with members of the HealthCare Finance team and other stakeholders throughout the organization.

 

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of finance experience required, including at least three (3) years in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in decision support and managed care environments preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze issues, resolve problems accurately, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret and evaluate complex data.
• Knowledge of healthcare terminology, reimbursement methodologies, and cost accounting principles required.
• Ability to develop meaningful reports, metrics, and data-driven insights to support business operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Access required.
• Experience with decision support systems, such as Performance Manager, preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under deadline pressures.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and/or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the stated educational requirements.

Compensation

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is PS/30S: $89,754- $129,432 per year per year. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
