About the Role

Responsible for providing application development and support services to meet AIA's business needs

Roles and Responsibilities:

·         Understand user and business requirements and communicate with business users, business analysts, and other stakeholders to clarify functional and technical requirements.

·         Lead the technical design and delivery of enterprise web applications using C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Angular, RESTful APIs, and Microsoft SQL Server.

·         Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, solution design, development, code review, testing, deployment, production release, and post-production support.

·         Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, maintainable, and practical technical solutions.

·         Define application architecture, component design, integration approaches, database structures, and technical implementation standards.

·         Design, develop, enhance, and maintain backend APIs, business logic, database integration, and external system integrations.

·         Guide the development of responsive, reusable, and maintainable frontend components using Angular and TypeScript.

·         Design scalable and flexible database structures that support evolving customer and business requirements.

·         Lead the development and maintenance of back-office systems, administration portals, agent portals, learning platforms, enrolment functions, and reporting modules.

·         Design and implement reporting functions that support operational management, data validation, business analysis, and compliance requirements.

·         Prepare technical specifications, solution design documents, database design documents, API documentation, deployment guides, and other required project documentation.

·         Review source code and ensure that development work follows architecture guidelines, coding standards, security requirements, and software engineering best practices.

·         Provide technical guidance, mentoring, troubleshooting support, and knowledge sharing to software engineers.

·         Estimate development effort, break down technical tasks, identify dependencies, and coordinate development activities.

·         Monitor technical delivery progress and ensure that assigned tasks are completed according to agreed scope, quality standards, and project timelines.

·         Work closely with QA engineers to support SIT and UAT activities, analyze defects, and coordinate issue resolution.

·         Perform application troubleshooting, defect analysis, root cause analysis, bug fixing, and production support.

·         Track critical technical and production issues through investigation, coordination, resolution, verification, and closure.

·         Ensure that developed solutions meet functional, performance, scalability, maintainability, availability, security, and compliance requirements.

·         Collaborate with business analysts, developers, QA engineers, infrastructure teams, security teams, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

·         Participate in application deployment, production releases, release verification, rollback planning, and post-release monitoring.

·         Ensure that application changes follow established SDLC, change management, and production deployment processes.

·         Identify technical risks, propose mitigation actions, and communicate potential impacts to project stakeholders.

·         Support continuous improvement of application architecture, database design, development standards, release practices, system stability, and delivery efficiency.

·         Support application modernization, technical debt reduction, framework upgrades, and legacy system enhancement.

·         Perform other technical leadership, software development, and project-related assignments as required.

Job Requirements:

Mandatory Requirements

·       6+ years of experience in software development, with hands-on experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise web applications.

·       4+ years of development experience using C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework, and .NET Core.

·       Strong experience in designing and developing backend services and RESTful APIs using .NET Core.

·       Strong frontend development experience using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

·       Strong experience with relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, SQL development, data maintenance, and performance optimization.

·       Experience in designing flexible and scalable database structures to support evolving business requirements.

·       Strong object-oriented analysis, design, and development skills.

·       Good understanding of enterprise application architecture, system integration, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.

·       Experience in leading technical design and delivery of enterprise software projects.

·       Experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans.

·       Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, production release, and application support.

·       Experience in developing and maintaining administrative portals, customer or agent portals, workflow applications, reporting modules, and learning or enrolment platforms.

·       Experience in designing and implementing reporting functions for operational, management, and compliance requirements.

·       Experience in application troubleshooting, defect analysis, bug fixing, production support, and critical issue resolution.

·       Experience in code review, technical quality control, effort estimation, task planning, and development coordination.

·       Familiar with source control, CI/CD pipelines, application deployment, and release management practices.

·       Able to work closely with business users, business analysts, developers, QA engineers, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders.

·       Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical documentation skills.

·       Able to provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to software engineers.

·       Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects according to agreed scope, quality standards, and timelines.

·       Able to work effectively in a team and perform under pressure.

·       Able to take ownership of technical issues from investigation and coordination through resolution and closure.

Optional Requirements

·       Experience in the insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries is preferred.

·       Experience in developing agency, customer onboarding, learning management, enrolment, back-office, or compliance-related systems is preferred.

·       Experience with role-based access control, user administration, master data maintenance, and system configuration is an advantage.

·       Experience with automated testing frameworks and test automation practices is a plus.

·       Experience in application performance analysis, SQL tuning, and system performance optimization is an advantage.

·       Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies is a plus.

·       Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms is preferred.

·       Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native application development is an advantage.

·       Experience with application security, secure coding, vulnerability remediation, and compliance controls is preferred.

·       Experience working with Agile, Scrum, CI/CD, and DevOps practices is preferred.

·       Experience in system migration, application modernization, and legacy .NET application upgrade is an advantage.

·       Experience managing multiple projects or coordinating multiple development teams is preferred
