This position is a hybrid position and will require 1 day per week in the office.
The Supervisor, Revenue Cycle is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, direction and leadership for a team of associates, directing the accurate, timely and complete submission of all paper and electronic billing to all payers within established time frames of each payer and the correct and timely resolution of all assigned receivables while following all regulatory compliance, legal and financial requirements. This position assumes overall responsibility for clearly assigning tasks and communicating decisions, setting clear objectives and measures, and for monitoring and reporting on process, progress, and results.

Develops and Reviews monthly accounts receivable for all companies; identifies problem accounts or payor trends and provides direction to associates when working with payors for resolution; assures Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are met with respect to recognizing bad debt expenses.Assists with evaluation and development of best practice revenue cycle processes for area of responsibility; identifies problems and develops resolutions to facilitate timely processing of the HCFA 1500’s, UB04’s, electronic billing, and other billing formats.Assures month-end closing deadlines are met and all managerial reports are run, maintained and analyzed including cash target goals and doubtful, problem accounts. Maintains knowledge and stays abreast of reimbursement requirements for all payors, as well as payor and health care industry trends through membership in related associations or internet listserves, and through business-related publications and affiliations. Keeps staff informed of any payment, pricing, coding, denial or submission criteria on assigned payors. Keeps the manager informed of any developments within their area of responsibility which may require action or be pertinent to the performance of their duties; provides manager with issues and potential resolutions regarding problems in their respective area of responsibility.Approves and processes adjustment and refund requests and office supply orders within level of authority.Serves as liaison between IT department and Revenue Cycle department to assure optimal level of automation and efficiencies are gained for all IT-supported systems; ensures system issues are readily addressed; involved in upgrades and related testing; coordinates with IT to optimize electronic submission of claims and to ensure that HIPAA requirements are met for all payors.Works with Integration Team to assure appropriate set up for billing customers and training needs for company offices.Employee Management
Supervises assigned associates; ensures appropriate staffing levels, manages performance, engages and develops associates.Ensures adequate staffing is maintained. Recruits the best possible associates appropriate for positions. Coordinates recruitment activity with Human Resources, including advertisement and arranging interviews; verifies employment and references and schedules second interviews of potential candidates with management; makes recommendations for hiring. Assesses training and development needs and conducts training for assigned staff to meet required competencies and provides opportunities for growth. Ensures team members receive any additional appropriate training and career development opportunities deemed appropriate. Functions as a role model and assists with driving achievement of organizational goals and objectives by encouraging and facilitating improvement initiatives and cooperation among associates. Manages performance as appropriate by creating an “expectation of excellence”. Sets performance goals, compiles, monitors and evaluates measures of performance; develops and follows through with action plans based upon measurement results. Ensures the organization maximizes the contributory value of associates. Creates opportunities for continuous improvement of staff performance, development, and morale through fair and accurate performance evaluations on time per organizational policy, daily coaching and mentoring to increase organizational performance. Accurately differentiates levels of performance for rewards. Actively addresses insufficient performance by taking appropriate corrective action as needed. Creates a strategically focused participative and engaging team environment. Provides motivation and retention of a qualified staff, assuring the quality and timeliness of completed work thereby aiding organizational financial success. Responsible to aid in the retention of qualified staff to meet or exceed the turnover goal. Provides fair and equitable treatment of all associates. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 5 years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle setting
