Role Summary

The Bid Team Leader is responsible for coordinating and supporting the day-to-day activities of the Sales Coordination team, ensuring the efficient delivery of sales support, bid administration, project coordination and exceptional customer service. Working closely with the Head of UK Sales and Area Sales Managers, the role provides guidance, coaching and practical support to Sales Coordinators, helping maintain high standards of service, accuracy and responsiveness.

The Bid Team Leader will remain actively involved in bid preparation, customer enquiries and sales administration activities while promoting collaboration, best practice and continuous improvement across the team. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an individual who enjoys supporting colleagues, coordinating workloads and helping the team achieve shared objectives

This role provides day-to-day leadership, work allocation, coaching and operational support to the Bid Team. Responsibility for formal performance management, employee relations matters, remuneration decisions and recruitment approvals remains with the Head of UK Sales.

This role is office based in Sherburn in Elmet.

 

Main Duties

Team Leadership -

  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and support to the Sales Coordinator team, promoting collaboration and a customer-focused approach.
  • Allocate workloads and prioritise tasks across the team to ensure deadlines and customer expectations are consistently met.
  • Hold regular one-to-one meetings and coaching discussions to provide feedback, support development and identify training opportunities.
  • Support onboarding activities and help identify development opportunities to enhance team capability and knowledge.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex customer queries and operational issues.
  • Monitor team activity against agreed KPIs and provide operational updates to the Head of UK Sales.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, efficiency and customer service.

 

Sales Coordination -

  • Support the sales team by preparing proposals, quotations and tender documents tailored to client requirements.
  • Coordinate communication between Sales, Design and Contracts Delivery teams to ensure accurate transfer of project information and timely delivery.
  • Support the maintenance and accuracy of sales pipeline information, CRM systems and reporting dashboards.
  • Assist with scheduling site visits, client meetings and internal project meetings where applicable.
  • Ensure customer enquiries are responded to promptly, providing accurate product, pricing and project information.
  • Work closely with Area Sales Managers to provide effective administrative and logistical support that contributes to sales success.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives by assisting with campaign administration, activity tracking and information sharing.
  • Ensure consistency and best practice across all sales administration processes and documentation.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a sales coordination of bid coordination role, with experience in a leadership or supervisory position preferred.
  • Experience within the playground, construction or leisure industry would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to support, coach and motivate colleagues within a team environment.
  • Strong organisational and workload management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Experience monitoring performance data and producing operational reports.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • Experience with the tendering process and understanding of the UK’s procurement act desirable.
