Position is domiciled at the UPS facility in Sylmar, CA

Internal Job Grade: 20E

In-office attendance required 5 days per week

UPS is seeking a dynamic Security Investigator who mitigates risk for the company’s 3 P’s: People, Property & Packages. Security Investigators are responsible for the PHYSICAL SECURITY of UPS facilities utilizing and deploying CCTV and access control technology. Security Investigators regularly conduct INVESTIGATIONS related to employee concerns, package loss, fraud, and employee dishonesty that impacts service. Security Investigators regularly engage with law enforcement STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIPS when investigations identify criminal activity. Security Investigators conduct REGULATORY COMPLIANCE audits and promote adherence to transportation rules and regulations. Responsibilities

• Conducts investigations involving losses, employee dishonesty, compliance violations, and potential criminal activity.

• Audits quality and integrity policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

• Monitors employee disciplinary data.

• Analyzes investigation results and the root cause of losses to determine preventive measures.

• Analyzes research and surveillance data, interviews investigation subjects to obtain written incident statements, and prepares accurate and thorough case files.

• Monitors and evaluates access control procedures to ensure compliance with security requirements and identify potential vulnerabilities.

• Develops customized security procedures for external customers.

• Determines employee training needs to produce continuous development plans.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree

• Bachelor's Degree or international equivalent preferred

• Previous experience conducting investigations, interviewing subjects, or preparing investigative case files is preferred and will be considered alongside educational qualifications.

• Availability to work flexible shift hours

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

Pay Range:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $82,140.00/year to $133,500.00/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
