Role Description

  • The IT Application Owner (ITAO) has end-to-end responsibility for business-critical applications, ensuring their lifecycle, stability, compliance, and operational readiness align with Bank policies, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
  • Working across business, technology, risk, audit, and vendor teams, the ITAO maintains service availability, manages risks, drives remediation, and supports safe production changes.
  • The role proactively manages risks, compliance gaps, incidents, audit findings, lifecycle obligations, capacity, and dependencies, with timely escalation, clear evidence, and accurate reporting.

Your key responsibilities

  • Own assigned applications end to end, ensuring lifecycle, stability, availability, performance, security, compliance, and operational readiness.

  • Manage technology risks, controls, audits, regulatory findings, vulnerabilities, patching, access, licensing, and remediation through timely closure.

  • Lead resilience activities, including disaster recovery planning, testing, incident and problem management, capacity forecasting, and production readiness.

  • Coordinate maintenance, upgrades, migrations, decommissioning, certificates, renewals, and technology roadmap delivery.

  • Partner with business, engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, security, architecture, risk, audit, finance, and vendors to deliver safe production changes.

  • Define non-functional requirements, monitoring, automation, deployment, testing, support models, and operational evidence.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, governance reporting, compliance evidence, roadmaps, and management updates; escalate risks and delays promptly.

  • Support budget, cost, capacity, and work-prioritization planning while adopting automation and DevSecOps practices to improve resilience and efficiency.

  • Maintain and automate the BAU work specifically to improve the compliance posture and vulnerability management work.

Your skills and experience

  • 5–10 years’ experience in application ownership, IT governance, risk and controls, service management, or technology delivery, aligned to the hiring level.

  • Strong knowledge of application lifecycle management, SDLC controls, information security, audit remediation, and ITIL processes.

  • Proven ability to coordinate business, technology, security, risk, audit, infrastructure, and vendor stakeholders.

  • Experience in project planning, prioritisation, roadmap delivery, dependency management, and governance reporting.

  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and controlled production change.

  • Banking or other regulated-industry experience is preferred; relevant ITIL, cloud, security, risk, Agile, or project-management certifications are desirable.

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
