Summary of Primary Functions:     Responsible for operating one or more types of automated production equipment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.   

Machines, Tools, and Equipment Used:  May include one or more of the following:  T-Slab Machine, Automated Bar Bender, Robotic Welder, CNC Machine, Plasma Table or Automated Forming Machine.

Supervision Received:  Reports to Supervisor or Shop Lead; works with some supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This role has no supervisory responsibilities 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products. 
• Programs, sets up, and operates CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications
• Tests accuracy of settings and programs
• Inspects parts using precision measuring tools.
• Operates machines and monitors operation and controls panel displays to detect malfunctions and make adjustments.
• Follows established quality and safety standards.
• May be required to read blueprints or drawings.
• Measure and mark forming materials to correct dimensions.
• Cut/saw forming materials.
• Clean up work area.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.   

Job Specifications or Qualifications

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:  Related Machine Operation certification is a plus.

Education and/or Experience:  Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience or may need 6 months of experience with similar specialized equipment, or relevant training and/or machine operation certification. Is gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific automated equipment

Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. 

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
