The Planning Department employees are responsible for the maintenance and processing of internal and external customer orders by the release of plant work or production orders via the business system SAP, which creates purchase requisitions for our suppliers. Production Planners are the links between the physical activities in our production lines and the operations within our business system SAP.
Key elements of Production Planner job role include:
Create production or work orders to plan, schedule and maintain the plant production control to meet internal and external customer orders by targeted Site or system commit date.
Monitor and maintain planning parameters, master data, lead times, safety stock, reorder points, and lot-sizing settings in SAP.
Scheduling of the production lines for different instruments product groups and associated assemblies used within, factoring in production routing time and material lead time.
Convert planned orders into production orders and coordinate execution with manufacturing teams.
Working closely with Production Department to set correct cell inventory levels and safety stock to maintain for production usage.
Working closely with Purchasing Department to check adequate material availability and running material simulations to identify risks to targeted build plans.
Work closely with Logistics Department to support and maintain replenishment of parts on time for production, and shipping of finished goods.
Work closely with Engineering Department on any technical issues and supporting Engineering Change changeovers.
Work closely with the Service Department to ensure timely availability of materials for field service.
Attend Work Cell meetings with the production lines and support departments for regular reviews of the data within SAP, striving to ensure that the processes in the production and material flow areas are aligned with the SAP processes. Discuss schedule, material shortages, technical issues etc...
Attend weekly meetings with Quality to discuss returns from customers and any quality constraints affecting production. Support with processing rejects and returns in system.
Attend monthly meetings with Business Unit to review SiOP and future Sales forecasts and agree on build plan to meet customer and inventory expectations. Maintain agreed upon production plan in SAP and build plan sheets.
Maintain regular system checks for consumption and backflushing processes and correct where necessary to maintain Site inventory targets. Support with pre-flushing and backflushing of production orders to consume materials and goods receipt of production orders into defined storage locations and clearing of exceptions and anomalies.
Be an active member of annual stock with Finance department, including performing second count and system investigation work to manage stock integrity and accuracy.
Support Site NPI’s, EOL’s and product transfers for Planning related areas and maximize efficiency in each to ensure Site success.
Maintain and support Planning Departments KPI’s are met, and strive for benchmark practices in planning, order maintenance, output, inventory control, quality driven work and overall customer satisfaction.
Work closely with Departments to enforce Lean principles and drive continuous improvements to meet Site and Company goals and objectives, always driving for better practices and performance.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
0-2+ years of experience of production planning experience using an ERP system
OR
Associate degree
2+ years of experience of production planning experience using an ERP system
OR
High school diploma or GED
4+ years of experience of production planning experience using an ERP system
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP experience
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Planning / Scheduling knowledge and background preferred
Good communication skills
Good team player
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Flexible and willing to adapt to change
Compensation Range:
The hourly pay range for this full-time position is $XX - $XX. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
