Job Summary:
Principal Responsibilities:
- Support daily import compliance and FTZ operations in accordance with CBP regulations, FTZ requirements, and company procedures.
- Review and maintain HTS classifications, country of origin information, and trade compliance data within SAP and other systems.
- Assist with evaluating Section 301, Section 232, AD/CVD, and other trade program applicability under the guidance of management.
- Review import documentation for accuracy and completeness, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs entry documentation.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to support timely customs clearance.
- Support FTZ inventory transactions, admissions, transfers, exports, destructions, and inventory reconciliations.
- Maintain import and FTZ records in accordance with regulatory retention requirements.
- Investigate and resolve customs entry discrepancies, clearance issues, broker inquiries, and operational exceptions.
- Prepare compliance reports, duty spend analysis, FTZ reporting, and operational metrics.
- Support internal audits, broker reviews, customs audits, and compliance assessments.
- Assist in maintaining customs compliance procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
- Monitor regulatory changes and communicate relevant updates to management.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Logistics, Receiving, Procurement, Finance, and Operations teams to support compliant import and FTZ processes.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on compliance, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and cost savings.
- Escalate compliance risks and regulatory concerns to Trade Compliance leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Level Specifications:
- Working knowledge of U.S. import regulations, customs processes, and FTZ operations.
- Ability to interpret customs documentation and apply established compliance procedures.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Exercises sound judgment within established guidelines and escalates complex compliance matters as appropriate.
- Collaborates effectively with internal business partners and external service providers.
Work Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in Trade Compliance, Import Operations, FTZ Operations, Customs Brokerage, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
Education and Certification(s):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
