We are excited to be recruiting for a successful, highly regarded employer specialising in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering and Contracting company. This well-established company is currently securing exciting landmark construction projects across SE QLD.
Due to the continued growth within the organisation, we are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join their friendly, motivated team.
About the Role
As the company’s Purchasing Officer, you will report to the companies Administration Manager, working closely with the Construction Manager and Projects team.
This opportunity will see you apply your skills and knowledge in procurement including:
Key Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate preparation of purchase requisitions and processing of accounts receivables
- Generating purchase orders and correct coding to projects
- Maintaining relationships with Industry wholesalers and supplier
- Source quotes from suppliers, make educated decisions on purchases, ensuring compliance with company purchasing limits
- Creation of procedures and company manuals
- Maintain accurate records using MYOB and internal database systems
- Working closely with the administration team to ensure the smooth operations of the office administrative functions
The Candidate
To be successful, you'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in electrical wholesale management is preferred
- Knowledge of electrical materials, products, and subcontractors is highly desirable
- Strong background in coordinating day-to-day material ordering in response to site requirements
- Familiarity with creating, issuing and managing subcontractor and supplier agreements
- Good understanding of subcontractor payment schedules and the project approval process
- Proven ability to manage multiple delivery schedules across projects
- Highly organised, self-sufficient and able to work effectively to strict deadlines
- Clear and confident communication skills, both via email and telephone
- Intermediate or above-level understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
