Job Description:

Summary

The Estimating Intern supports Webber's Heavy Civil Estimating team with quantity take-offs, bid preparation, cost analysis, and preconstruction activities for roadway, bridge, earthwork, and infrastructure projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to the estimating and bidding process while building a foundation for a career in construction management, engineering, or estimating.

Essential Duties

  • Assist with quantity take-offs from plans and specifications.
  • Support the preparation and organization of bid documents and addenda.
  • Review drawings and specifications to understand project scope.
  • Help obtain and track subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Assist with estimate preparation, cost comparisons, and bid submissions.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and estimating reviews.
  • Maintain organized estimating files and databases.
  • Support Webber's Safety-First culture and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in heavy civil construction and estimating.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience reading construction plans and specifications is a plus.
