Job Summary

DeSHAZO is seeking an experienced Electrician IV – Journeyman / Master Electrician to join our electrical manufacturing team.

The Electrician IV is a senior-level electrical position responsible for the electrical assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and modification of custom overhead crane systems and related automation equipment.

The ideal candidate will have 10–15 years of industrial electrical experience, with strong knowledge of electrical controls, PLCs, VFDs, motors, control panels, and industrial machinery. This position requires the ability to independently interpret electrical schematics, identify and resolve complex electrical problems, recognize design or safety deficiencies, and provide technical guidance to less-experienced electricians.

The Electrician IV will work with minimal supervision and is expected to demonstrate a high level of craftsmanship, safety awareness, troubleshooting ability, and knowledge of applicable electrical standards and practices.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Install, wire, test, troubleshoot, and commission custom overhead cranes, industrial equipment, control panels, PLCs, VFDs, motors, and related electrical components.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and technical documentation to complete electrical layouts and installations.
• Build, modify, and troubleshoot custom control panels and industrial control systems.
• Diagnose complex electrical and control-system issues, identify design or safety deficiencies, and recommend effective solutions.
• Perform electrical testing, startup, commissioning, and production-floor modifications as needed.
• Work with Engineering and other departments on troubleshooting, design changes, equipment improvements, and system upgrades.
• Provide technical guidance and help mentor less-experienced electricians.
• Maintain a high standard of quality, safety, workmanship, and organization while following applicable electrical codes and company safety procedures.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and use sound judgment when solving electrical problems.
• 10–15 years of industrial electrical experience preferred, with strong experience in PLCs, VFDs, motors, industrial controls, and 480V three-phase systems.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license/certification preferred, along with trade school, apprenticeship, military electrical training, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with overhead cranes, hoists, automated machinery, PLC I/O, VFD setup/troubleshooting, and industrial automation is a plus.
• Experience leading, training, or mentoring other electricians is preferred.
• Working knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA electrical safety requirements, and industry standards.
• Forklift experience, valid driver's license, proficient English communication, and basic electrician's hand tools required.
• Physical Requirements
• Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Stand and walk for extended periods, including 10-hour shifts.
• Work from ladders, lifts, platforms, and elevated work areas when required.
• Work in various positions, including reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working overhead.
• Work in manufacturing environments that may be hot, cold, dusty, noisy, or dirty.
• Possess the ability to normally see, hear, and communicate effectively.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, electrical test equipment, and material-handling equipment.

Work Environment

This position is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment. Employees may be exposed to moving equipment, electrical systems, welding and machining operations, dust, noise, temperature variations, and other typical manufacturing hazards.

All work must be performed in accordance with DeSHAZO safety policies and applicable OSHA and electrical safety requirements.

Available to eligible hourly manufacturing personnel:

• $150 after 2 weeks of employment*
• $350 after 6 months of employment**
• $500 after 12 months of employment**

*Requires zero tardies or unexcused absences during this period.

**Associate must not receive progressive discipline during this period in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
