We’re looking for an Assistant Branch Manager to help lead the people, service, and day-to-day operations of an SCU Credit Union branch. What You’ll Do

Help Lead the Branch Team

• Serve as a professional leader and resource to branch employees, helping create a collaborative,  supportive, and service-focused environment.
• Support the Branch Manager in leading the team, achieving branch objectives, and maintaining strong day-to-day operations.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and ongoing training to help employees build their skills and deliver exceptional member service.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing needs to ensure the branch is effectively supported.
• Step into the Branch Manager role when the manager is absent, providing leadership and oversight of branch activities.
• Help lead monthly branch meetings and contribute to ongoing employee development.

Create an Exceptional Member Experience

• Build strong relationships with members by understanding their needs and connecting them with appropriate financial products and services.
• Oversee member service and teller functions to ensure members receive friendly, efficient, and professional service.
• Handle member questions, concerns, and escalated issues with sound judgment and a solutions-oriented approach.
• Answer member calls and provide timely follow-up.
• Promote SCU Credit Union membership and educate members about the products and services available to them.
• Identify opportunities to deepen member relationships through thoughtful, needs-based cross-selling.

Keep the Branch Running Smoothly

• Maintain a strong  working knowledge of teller services, member services, and branch systems and applications.
• Assist with cash management, including overseeing cash ordering by the Head Teller.
• Ensure branch policies,  procedures, and operational standards are consistently followed.
• Help maintain a secure teller environment and ensure established security procedures are followed.
• Protect the confidentiality and privacy of member and Credit Union information.
• Ensure the branch and  lobby areas are clean, organized, welcoming, and professional.
• Step in wherever needed to support the team and maintain an efficient branch operation.

Be a Champion for SCU

• Understand and actively demonstrate SCU Credit Union’s mission, vision, values, and commitment to the communities we serve.
• Bring a positive, professional, and member-focused approach to every interaction.
• Work collaboratively with branch leadership and employees while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.
• Support initiatives and other responsibilities as directed by management.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a motivated, people-oriented professional who enjoys building relationships, developing others, and making a difference in the member experience.

You’ll ideally bring:

• A high school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s Degree is preferred.
• 3–5 years of retail banking or credit union experience, with teller experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• A genuine enjoyment of working with the public and building relationships.
• Strong telephone and computer skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach, along with the ability to work independently.
• Strong member service and cross-selling skills.
• Professional business etiquette and a positive, approachable demeanor.
• A commitment to protecting member privacy and maintaining a secure and compliant branch environment.

The Details

This is a full-time benefits eligible position. Evening and Saturday hours are currently required. The assigned branch location is to be determined.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 to $32.00 per hour and is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
