Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially driven New Business Senior Sales to accelerate the growth of our business in Spain.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities, with a strong focus on acquiring new clients and expanding the company’s presence into new sectors and industries.
Working as part of a multinational market research organisation, the New Business Executive will combine strong sales capabilities with a consultative approach, helping prospective clients understand how market research, consumer insights and data can support their strategic and commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
New Client Acquisition
- Identify and target potential new clients across the Spanish market.
- Develop and manage a proactive new business pipeline.
- Generate leads through a combination of prospecting, networking, events, referrals and other business development activities.
- Build relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders.
- Lead the full sales cycle, from initial contact through to proposal development, negotiation and contract closure.
- Consistently achieve agreed new business and revenue targets.
Opening New Sectors and Markets
- Identify sectors and industries where the company currently has limited or no presence.
- Develop commercial strategies to penetrate new vertical markets.
- Research market trends, client needs and competitive dynamics to identify new growth opportunities.
- Build sector-specific value propositions and go-to-market approaches.
- Work closely with internal teams to adapt and position the company's capabilities for different industries.
Consultative Selling
- Understand clients' business challenges and strategic priorities.
- Translate client needs into relevant market research and insight solutions.
- Great understanding of YouGov's tools and data products, in order to identify the best solution for each client/need.
- Work with research, operations and specialist teams to develop compelling proposals and commercial solutions.
- Present the company's capabilities and solutions to senior client stakeholders.
- Position the company as a strategic insights partner rather than simply a research supplier.
Pipeline and Commercial Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on opportunities, prospects and sales activity within the CRM system (Salesforce)
- Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline development and conversion rates.
- Develop and execute account and opportunity plans for key prospects.
- Provide regular market intelligence and feedback on emerging client needs and commercial opportunities.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with research, client service and operational teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales to delivery.
- Collaborate with international colleagues and teams to leverage the company's global expertise, capabilities and client relationships.
- Share market intelligence and commercial best practices across the organisation.
Account management
- Depending on their size and potential, manage from a Sales perspective the new clients he/she has brought to the company over time.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- Proven experience in new business development, business development or B2B sales.
- Ideally, knowledge of the market research industry.
- Experience selling professional services, market research, consulting, data, insights or other complex solutions would be highly valued.
- Demonstrated track record of acquiring new clients and achieving commercial targets.
- Experience developing business in new sectors or vertical markets is a strong advantage.
- Experience working in an international or multinational environment is desirable.

- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to engage and build relationships with senior-level decision-makers.
- Strong consultative and solution-selling approach.
- Commercially minded, entrepreneurial and results-oriented.
- Ability to identify opportunities and develop creative approaches to opening new markets.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of commercial initiatives.
- Strong organisational and pipeline management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and international teams.
Languages
- Native or fluent Spanish is essential.
- Professional fluency in English is essential, given the international nature of the role.
- Additional languages would be an advantage, specially catalan.
