AgriSompo has a unique opportunity for an Area Claims Supervisor on our Upper Midwest team, supporting Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI), Private Products, and Named Peril claims operations.

As the Area Claims Supervisor, you will play a key role in leading and developing a team, ensuring efficient claims service through effective training and communication strategies. You will oversee the development and maintenance of internal communications to streamline claims processes, while serving as the local expert to provide guidance on claims adjusting issues, address concerns, and support your team in delivering exceptional service.

What you’ll be doing:

• Build and maintain effective relationships with Regional Leadership and cross-functional partners to support timely, accurate, and compliant claims processing.
• Provide claims-related updates, analysis, and reporting to the Regional Claims Manager to support operational, staffing, budgeting, and performance decisions.
• Monitor claims productivity, service-level performance, adjuster workloads, closure rates, payment timelines, and other key claims metrics.
• Analyze resource utilization and staffing needs to support efficient claims operations and budget management.
• Identify training and performance gaps, partnering with Claims Training and leadership to ensure service standards are achieved.
• Coach and support adjusters through guidance, work reviews, and feedback to promote consistency, accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company procedures.
• Manage employee development and staffing activities, including hiring, training, performance management, delegation, coaching, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations.
• Establish and communicate performance expectations aligned with company goals, values, and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

• Minimum 5 years of crop insurance claim experience
• 2+ years supervisory and/or management experience preferred
• Required license and certification: CAPP certification and valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and applicable State license
• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or management preferred

• Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). 
• Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization. 
• Ability to complete documentation requirements. 
• Ability to utilize analytical thinking; find facts and solve problems. 
• Ability to remain self-motivated and efficient. 
• Ability to work both in an office setting and outdoors in a farm environment. 
• Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment. 
• Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service, both internally and externally. 
• Working knowledge of crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures and best practices. 
• Works effectively under pressure and able to work within tight deadlines. 
• Willingness to take initiative and work with minimal supervision. 
• Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize. 

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. 

Ability to stand or sit constantly/continuously. 

Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. 

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading. 

Environmental Conditions 

The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment. 

This role also involves up to 60% travel, actual amount of time dependent upon region(s) supported.

Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
