Job Description

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to begin Fall 2027.

This is a full-time tenure-track position. Primary duties will include teaching undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses; conducting research; and mentoring students. Duties also include serving on departmental, college, university, and professional committees as well as mentoring students. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace. Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold  a PhD in Criminal Justice or a related field. Candidates who are ABD will also be considered but must have earned their degree before August 16, 2027. All specializations will be considered but preference will be given to those with expertise in border security, homeland security, security studies, GIS, immigration, or a related area. We strongly encourage candidates with strong research skills, strong records of or potential for sustained publication in peer-reviewed journals, and the potential for or prior experience with seeking and/or securing external grant funding.
