Description

Under the supervision of the Juvenile Register, assists in preparing, processing, and maintaining case files of the Jvueniel Division of the Family Court in the areas of adoption, child protective proceedings, and juvenile delinquency. Prepares and certifies court orders and related legal documents. Assists in bookkeeping activities of the Juvenile Division, including processing vouchers submitted under the Child Care Fund.

  1. Responsible for the preparation and certification of court orders and related legal documents following court hearings in areas of adoption, child protective proceedings, and juvenile delinquency. Proofreads documents, distributes to parties, prepares proofs of service and coordinates scheduling of cases.
  1. Assists in the maintenance of Juvenile Court files. Updates legal/social files based on court orders and enters required information into case and document management systems.
  1. Reviews and processes billings for foster care and other out-of-home placements and prepares vouchers for payment.
  1. Records and tracks placements of youth in Foster Care, Tether Program, and other programming. Maintains records of placement changes. Verifies monthly program records and prepares reimbursement vouchers for ordered programming.
  1. Processes court case, including creating court files, completing the petition intake, entering case information to required data basses, scheduling hearings and preparing notices. May assist with case processes and prepare abstracts to the Secretary of State when appropriate. Scheduled for hearings before the Judge, as necessary.
  1.  Responses to telephone callers and greets visitors to the Juvenile Court, responding to inquiries explaining policies and procedures of the court as necessary, and/or directing to the proper individual or agency.
  1. Prepares and processes restricted drivers licenses. Prepares failure to appear notices when appropriate.
  1. Notifies victims of scheduled hearings and ensures compliance with the statue.
  1. Searches records for investigative checks by the military and completes background forms.
  1. Performs a variety of related functions such as reviewing minor’s records for District and Circuit Courts and preparing fingerprint orders, as necessary.
  1. In the absence of the Juvenile Register may process matters under the parental waver procedure, schedules preliminary hearings, or prepare emergency medical orders.

Other Functions

  1. May be assigned other responsibilities necessary to ensure the smooth operations of the Juvenile Court.

Education: High school graduation or equivalent. Prefer advanced coursework in data processing and accounting.

Experience: Two years of progressively responsible experience including work processing responsibility, preferably in a Family Court or related setting.

Other Requirements: Must be an accurate typist with high typing proficiency. 

 FLSA States: Non-exempt.
