Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Clutch Lead Operator - Days.

The hourly rate for this position is $22.59 - $28.21 per hour with pay increases scheduled at 6 months and 1 year of service.

The core hours for this role are 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM Overtime may exceed these hours, and can be mandatory at times.

Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. ## What you’ll do:

Eaton’s Vehicle Group division is currently seeking a Lead Production Assembler to join our team. This position is based at our Kings Mountain, NC facility.

  • Assemble clutch components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies from specification sheets, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Be able to work safely around automation including fully automated & collaborative automation cells.
  • Direct and train assemblers in your assigned area
  • Assist your supervisor and other functional leaders with Tier meetings, Engineering Trials, Continuous Improvement events, and other activities as required
  • Be an expert on all assembly stations in your assigned area
  • Plan assembly line flow to meet daily requirements including coordinating changeovers, supplying proper tools, and escalating issues.
  • Perform minor and preventative maintenance in assigned workstations.
  • Be diligent in watching for and reporting unusual conditions, safety issues or defective material, assisting Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance with identifying issues.
  • Adhere to all safety and quality procedures, and company policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in on-the-job training for new employees.
  • Help create an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing departmental and plant objectives.
  • Perform work in a manner which supports Eaton’s Quality systems (QS, 9000, TS 16949, CQI-9), and Environmental system (ISO 14000).
  • Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping and 5S efforts
  • Ensure that people in your assigned area complete their daily standard work tasks
  • Inspect product for quality acceptance and perform quality checks. Work within quality and quantity standards.
  • Work a reasonable amount of overtime, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

## Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Prior experience assembling clutches or other automotive assemblies required
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis from floor to waist. Periodic lifting of up to 30 lbs. from waist to shoulder.
  • Able to stand for up to 9 hours, with scheduled breaks
  • Able to stand, twist, bend, squat and stoop
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • No relocation is available for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Kings Mountain, NC facility will be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous manufacturing assembly experience preferred
  • 1 Year experience assembling clutches or other transmission components
  • Previous leadership experience
