Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a ED Admit Telemetry Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
- Coordinates patient flow of patient movements within designated departments to facilitate timely, effective care and oversees staffing, assignments, and resource utilization to meet patient needs efficiently and safely.
- Demonstrates sound clinical judgment, prioritization, and critical thinking, particularly during rapidly changing or critical patient situations, and serves as a clinical resource for staff.
- Evaluates and audits care provided by staff, identifies opportunities for improvement, coaches staff as needed, and ensures compliance with standards of practice, policies, and procedures.
- Provides direct patient care as needed and ensures the nursing process is appropriately utilized, including assessment, care planning, intervention, patient education, and evaluation of patient response.
- Ensures unit compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, core measures, nursing bundles, and other quality initiatives; identifies gaps and assists with implementation of action plans.
- Maintains competency in telemetry/observation care and serves as a resource to staff regarding patient monitoring, recognition of clinical deterioration, escalation of care, and appropriate use of the Clinical Response Team.
Job Requirements
Required
- Associate Of Nursing and two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty
- Registered Nurse: AZ,
- American Heart Association:
- Basic Life Support
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Preferred
- Bachelors Of Science Nursing and Charge Nurse experience
