As a Medical Coding Specialist II at ICON, you will be responsible for advanced coding of medical data within clinical trials, ensuring accurate classification and consistency across studies.
What You Will Do:
Your role will involve delivering scientific operations work to a high standard, working closely with your team and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing advanced medical coding of diagnoses, procedures, and medications using standard coding systems such as MedDRA and WHO Drug.
- Ensuring coding accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements across multiple clinical studies.
- Collaborating with clinical and data management teams to resolve complex coding discrepancies and queries.
- Providing expertise in the development and refinement of medical coding conventions and procedures.
- Staying updated on changes in medical coding standards and ensuring their implementation in clinical trial processes.
Your Profile:
You will bring relevant scientific operations experience, along with the following qualifications and skills.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, healthcare, or a related field.
- Proven experience in medical coding, preferably with MedDRA and WHO Drug, within a clinical research setting.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements for medical coding.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy in medical data.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
