Snap-on, Elizabethton, TN is currently seeking a Supervisor - Production. Responsible for directly supervising manufacturing operations. Ensure associates work in a safe environment. Motivate and coordinate associates to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives within the department. Responsible for overseeing department workflow, troubleshooting and resolving production problems. Develop and maintain a team environment which will work toward providing continuous improvement. Lead staff of up to 50 hourly associates.
Responsibilities
KEY TASKS
- Proactively implement and promote a safe work environment.
- Lead and motivate team to achieve a positive team based work environment that meets performance goals and objectives for safety, quality, delivery and cost. Communicate expectations and results.
- Manage workforce according to company philosophy aligned with “Who We Are”, mission, beliefs, values and vision.
- Responsible for planning and scheduling operations and workforce on a daily basis.
- Regularly review process and productivity information. Troubleshoot and resolve production, quality and delivery issues working closely with a variety of support departments such as engineering, maintenance and planning.
- Train, evaluate, coach and mentor associates, utilizing performance management techniques, to help improve performance, including disciplinary actions as necessary. Identify top talent for advancement opportunities.
- Lead, participate in and support Continuous Improvement and other problem solving activities. Lead associates to use Continuous Improvement tools. Support implementation of new processes and methods.
- Maintain and consistently administer local policies to meet day-to-day operating requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining procedures and work instructions and for completing a variety of administrative tasks as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing. Possess technical skills related to the area of responsibility. Previous supervisory experience and Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ability to read, write and speak English.
