Business Unit & Product Law Senior Legal Analyst

Vanguard is seeking a talented, driven, and team-oriented individual to join the Disclosure Governance Legal team. In this role you will collaborate with experienced attorneys and business stakeholders to support Vanguard’s regulatory disclosure frameworks. 

The role will focus on supporting Vanguard's ongoing disclosure governance, risk management, and reporting activities, while collaborating across legal, compliance, and business teams to enhance disclosure-related processes.

The ideal candidate will have a legal, regulatory, compliance or financial background, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. In addition to strong execution skills, the successful candidate will be able to effectively identify and analyze issues, develop thoughtful and practical recommendations, and take ownership of driving outcomes in a highly collaborative environment. 

Responsibilities 

• Supports the drafting and coordination of regulatory documents and correspondence. Develops materials and collaborates with attorneys to deliver presentations and communications on regulatory developments related to Vanguard's business activities and investment products.

• Partners with attorneys and business stakeholders analyze and help address day-to-day operational, risk, and regulatory matters related to Vanguard's business activities and investment products. 

• Conducts and may coordinate research, investigation and analysis on market structure and regulatory   policy issues to support legal and regulatory activities.

• Research, aggregates, and delivers regulatory resources and reference materials, including statutes, judicial decisions, industry guidance, and other reference materials, to support attorneys and business partners

• Assesses and analyzes the regulatory impact of new products and investment strategies. Attends client meetings to stay abreast of new product offerings. 

• Supports the preparation of legal reporting and the maintenance of related databases. 

• Develops and maintains knowledge of applicable regulatory framework, Vanguard's business and products, and the investment industry. Stays abreast of industry and regulatory developments affecting Vanguard. 

• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years related work experience, paralegal/legal and regulatory experience in the financial services industry preferred.

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
