The Lead Housekeeper physically carries out and assists in directing the activities of those involved in providing a variety of industrial housekeeping and laundry services
This position will support the Anchorage Pioneer Home in Anchorage, AK.
Responsibilities
- Performs all duties required of a housekeeper and/or laundry attendant.
- Responsible for meeting all of the obligations required of assigned employees.
- Help direct and guide assigned housekeeping and janitorial employees.
- Help train new staff and provide ongoing training to existing staff. Regularly conducts, replaces, and disperses assigned inventories.
- Regularly conduct inspections to maintain the quality of provided services.
- Coordinates associated equipment care and maintenance.
- Help conduct safety meetings and ensure daily operations follow company and client safety requirements.
- Ensure all quality standards and work procedures for staff are met.
- Assist in resolving minor maintenance or client emergencies as they occur or take steps to permanently address them.
- Assist employees in the resolution of work-related difficulties.
- Identifies, resolves, or appropriately reports site’s safety hazards.
- Assist in having all available required HazCom documentation.
- Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the associate handbook.
- This position physically carries out as well as helps direct the activities of those involved in providing services.
- Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of directly related experience that demonstrates knowledge of housekeeping duties or supervision of employees.
- This contract requires employees to have the following immunizations: TB. Successful candidates must be able to provide immunization records for this and/or be willing to take the vaccination if offered the job.
- The ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
