Job Summary
• This role is responsible for leading multiple project teams consisting of mechanical hardware engineers and internal/outsourced development partners. The role manages headcount, resources, schedules, and costs across multiple ongoing projects, and builds relationships with development partners. The role brings domain-specific expertise, providing leadership and mechanical/thermal perspective to cross-organization projects. The role evaluates designs for compliance with technology and drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical expert lead of the LaserJet Color/Mono Single Function and All-in-One development team located in Singapore.
• The primary skills will center on LaserJet product design, development, qualification and coordination with part and mechanism for Single Function (SF) and AiO products.
• Be responsible for the development of HP Mono and Color Laser Single Function Product (SFP)/Multi-Function Product (MFP) printer related to mechanical/electrical systems, coordinating between key internal asset owners and external partners.
• Manage all engineering aspects of printers throughout the product lifecycle (including architecture, design requirements gathering, schedule, specifications, phase exit approvals, issues tracking, driving issue resolution/closure and release for production)  
• Investigate and evaluate technical options/countermeasures and represents the engine team response to the cross functional teams that meets the business and technical requirements.
• Work with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners to develop HP Mono and Color Laser SFP/MFP printer that meet schedule, quality, cost requirements and end to end customer experience.
• Lead and drives the implementations effort for engine and cartridge specification and qualification, partner with corporate Industrial Design initiatives and assist the development and execution of margin and specification test plans during development.

Education & Experience Recommended

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Typically, 6-10 years’ experience
• Background in LaserJet mono and color printing technologies, image scanning fundamentals and Laserjet cartridge technologies (preferred but not compulsory)
• General understanding of mechanical induced image defects, document feeder operation and impact on copied image
• Strong CAD/CAM modeling skills and plastic/sheet metal design experience
• Strong skills to balance tradeoffs between feature robustness and cost
• Tooling and tool design background and design for manufacturing principles
• Strong leadership skills, teamwork within both technical and non-technical communities
• Ability to organize technical issues and drive to resolution through strong negotiation skill.
• Ability to simplify process and project management skill.
• Strong initiative, work independently with growth mindset.
• Understanding of Japanese culture
• 25% domestic and international travel is expected.
