Your role and responsibilities
 

We are looking for an Operations Analytics Trainee to join the Global Operations Analytics team in ABB’s Motion business area. In this role, you will gain practical experience in data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence while working on real operational use cases. This is part-time role (approximately 2 days per week) until the end of April 2027. There may be an opportunity to continue in a summer internship after April, this will be evaluated later and cannot be guaranteed at the outset.
 

You will contribute to analytics solutions across the full data and reporting stack, from data modeling in Snowflake to reporting in Power BI and process analytics in Celonis. You will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to develop reliable, scalable, and insightful analytics solutions that support operational decision-making and continuous improvement.
 

The work model for the role is: onsite at ABB’s Pitäjänmäki site in Helsinki.
 

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Supporting the development of data models, tables, transformations, and data logic in Snowflake and SQL.
• Building and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports, and other analytics solutions for operational use cases.
• Contributing to Celonis process mining analyses and data models to identify process insights and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborating with business and technical teams to understand analytics needs, improve data quality, and develop reliable end-to-end solutions.

You will join a collaborative and internationally connected Analytics team, where you will work with experienced colleagues across data, analytics, and operations and have the opportunity to develop your skills through hands-on work.
 

Qualifications for the role

• You are currently studying Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or another relevant field.
• You have a basic understanding of SQL, databases, data structures, and data transformation concepts.
• You are interested in operations analytics, data platforms, business intelligence, and business processes.
• You are motivated to develop your skills in tools such as Snowflake, Power BI, and Celonis.
• You have an analytical mindset and enjoy solving problems, working with data, and understanding how analytics can support business decisions.
• You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and communicating with technical and business stakeholders.
• Previous experience with Power BI or similar BI tools, SQL, SAP, data pipelines, ETL, machine learning, or advanced analytics is considered an advantage.
