Title: Scientific Communications Technician

Location: Creve Coeur, MO/ Franklin, TN

The Royal Canin Scientific Communications Technician will play an integral role in the Scientific Communications team by creating training materials, facilitating trainings with internal and external audiences, and aiding in day-to-day administration of the Royal Canin Academy platform. This role will focus on establishing and advancing the knowledge base in nutrition and in our products in an effort to position Royal Canin as THE Reference in Health Nutrition for Cats and Dogs. This role will be a thought leader within the veterinary technician community. 

What will be your responsibilities?

Training & Content Development

  • Design, develop, and facilitate engaging, multi-platform nutrition training programs (live, virtual, and classroom) for internal associates and external veterinary partners.
  • Create RACE-accredited continuing education (CE) content tailored for and delivered by veterinary technicians.
  • Develop and implement robust metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) of nutrition training initiatives.

Strategic Program Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work in partnership in the execution of a comprehensive veterinary technician outreach program, fostering a community of nutrition champions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., Sales, Marketing), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and strategic accounts to develop and implement mutually beneficial nutrition education programs.
  • Manage content and host "Tech Talks" on the Royal Canin Live platform, partnering with influential veterinary technician KOLs.
  • Partner with the Senior Scientific Communications Technician to develop and integrate nutrition programs within university curricula for veterinary technicians.

Professional Advocacy & Industry Leadership

  • Serve as a principal voice and representative for Royal Canin and veterinary technicians in key industry organizations (e.g. NAVTA), shaping the conversation around veterinary nursing affairs.
  • Represent the Scientific Communications team at major industry conferences (e.g., VetTechU, VMX, WVC), supporting the execution of the company's technician strategy.
  • Maintain an advanced level of scientific proficiency in companion animal nutrition to serve as a subject matter expert in all professional interactions.

Operational Support

  • Steward the daily maintenance, curation, and performance monitoring of the Royal Canin Academy platform to ensure seamless course delivery, data integrity, and an optimal user learning experience.
  • Manage operational workflows and administrative functions for the Scientific Communications team, including but not limited to the processing of Key Opinion Leader (KOL) honorariums and other purchase orders to ensure operational efficiency.

What are we looking for?

  • Must hold a current credential as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of cat and dog nutrition, and commitment to continuous learning becoming an expert.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to deliver engaging professional presentations.
  • Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for business reporting and presentations.
  • Prior B2B sales experience in the veterinary industry or animal health sector preferred
  • Tech-savvy with the agility to master modern Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning design software (e.g., Cornerstone, Articulate).
  • Outgoing personality and the ability to function as a team player in an open office environment
  • Able to set goals and work in the field without direct supervision
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
