Role Description

Title: Director, Biologics and APCA Site & Manufacturing Platform Procurement (Directs & Indirects)

Company: Zoetis

Location: Site-based with multi-site / platform remit

Level: Director

Reporting to: Head of GMS Procurement with strong interface to Site

Leadership Teams and Platform/Manufacturing Leadership for Biologics and APCA sites

Direct reports: Site Procurement Leads (and/or Site Procurement Managers, via dotted/solid line depending on model) across sites within the manufacturing platform

Role purpose

The Director, Site & Manufacturing Platform Procurement is the accountable leader for end-to-end procurement performance across a manufacturing platform, ensuring each site delivers compliant, efficient buying and measurable value across directs and indirects while executing global/category strategies consistently. The role leads and develops site procurement leaders across multiple sites, standardises ways of working, drives category accountability at the point of execution, and ensures platform needs are understood, prioritised, and delivered—managing escalations and proactively reducing tail spend by optimising procurement systems and guided buying.

Key responsibilities

1) Platform procurement leadership, governance & standardization

 • Lead the platform procurement operating model: governance forums, decision rights, escalation routes, KPI cadence, and standard work across sites.

 • Set and enforce standardised ways of working across sites (intake-to-contract, buying channels, supplier performance routines, contract compliance).

 • Act as the escalation point for site procurement leaders, ensuring timely resolution and consistent application of policy and category direction.

2) Site leadership + platform execution (direct accountability for outcomes)

Maintain direct accountability for procurement performance at the primary site (where applicable) and ensure consistent execution across all sites in the platform.

 • Translate global/category strategies into platform execution plans with clear deliverables, ownership, sequencing, and tracking across sites.

• Ensure platform demand, specifications, and constraints are clearly articulated to category teams; challenge non-standard requirements and drive harmonisation where value/risk justify it.

3) People leadership across sites

 • Lead, coach, and performance-manage Site Procurement Leads / Managers across multiple sites, building a strong bench and ensuring consistent capability.

• Establish talent routines (succession, development plans, calibration) and role clarity across the platform.

4) Spend accountability, value delivery & finance governance (platform view)

• Own the platform opportunity pipeline and ensure site pipelines roll up into an integrated plan prioritised by value, risk, and feasibility.

• Drive contract coverage and compliance across sites; ensure savings/value are validated with Finance and delivered through execution discipline.

• Drive accountability of categories at the execution layer: ensure category strategies are translated into measurable site actions, remove barriers, and escalate misalignments quickly.

• Proactively optimise cash for Zoetis through payment terms optimisation/extension and inventory optimisation levers enabled by procurement (e.g., MOQs/lot sizes, lead times, supplier flexibility), in partnership with Finance/Treasury and Supply Chain.

5)Tail spend and purchasing effectiveness (systems-led)

• Proactively reduce unmanaged/tail spend across the platform by optimising procurement systems, catalogs, preferred supplier structures, buying channels, and approval thresholds.

• Establish platform-wide compliance expectations and reporting; use insights to target leakage and drive adoption.

6) Supplier performance, risk, quality, compliance & continuity (platform resilience)

• Sponsor platform-critical supplier relationships and performance management; ensure disciplined corrective actions and cross-site learning.

 • Lead procurement risk management across the platform, feeding insights into regional/global risk programs and ensuring continuity planning for critical supply.

Ensure GMP/compliance expectations and audit readiness are consistently met across sites (policy adherence, approvals, contracting standards, documentation quality). What this role is not (scope boundaries)

• Not the default owner for day-to-day P2P firefighting, routine PO processing/expediting, or isolated sourcing events that bypass category alignment.

• Not accountable for non-procurement change controls/projects unrelated to procurement/category targets. Success measures (KPIs)

 • Platform total value delivery (validated) and pipeline health; realised vs. planned execution. • Contract coverage/compliance and reduction in unmanaged/tail spend across sites.

• Cash / working capital improvement: measurable improvements via payment terms adherence/optimisation and procurement-enabled inventory levers.

 • Supplier performance (OTIF/service/quality) and escalation closure rate; continuity events avoided/contained.

 • Audit readiness and policy/process compliance across the platform.

 • Stakeholder satisfaction (site + platform leadership) and cadence effectiveness. Qualifications & experience

• Significant procurement experience in manufacturing/operations with multi-site leadership and matrix execution across global/category procurement.

• Proven people leadership experience leading leaders (managing managers; multi site team leadership strongly preferred).

• Strong commercial acumen (contracts, negotiations, supplier performance management) and comfort with systems/data (e.g., SAP, procurement analytics).

• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.

• High integrity and strong compliance orientation.

• Preferred Biologics procurement experience or strong track Procurement record with demonstrated agility to ramp quickly into new procurement areas
