Position Summary

The Fleet Safety Administrator owns the day-to-day administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of the organization's telematics platform. This role manages platform access and structure, program configuration (Driver App, safety, telematics), hardware health, and reporting and integrations—ensuring the fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while enabling users across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Program Administration

  • Customize the telematics driver application—general settings, features, and custom driver workflows—and troubleshoot login, vehicle selection, and connectivity issues.
  • Administer safety configuration: AI event detection, coaching settings, harsh event sensitivity, safety alerts, safety scores, and safety reports.
  • Perform bulk safety-setting updates and override auto-detected speed limits when discrepancies arise.
  • Manage telematics functions including asset tracking, fuel & energy, maintenance, and routing & dispatch.

Data and Safety Reporting

  • Monitor and report from the Safety Event inbox – alert leaders when drivers violate our fleet safety or dash camera policies
  • Provide corrective action direction for violations, based on the established corrective action guidelines – partnering with Risk Management and HR to ensure alignment, consistency, and evaluation of situations.
  • Follow up with leadership on coaching and corrective action, escalating to HR where necessary
  • Provide regular reporting of safety event data, including driver scores, areas of high risk, and any other pertinent information requested by leadership or stakeholders
  • Keep leaders and stakeholders informed of new capabilities or reporting improvements

Continuous Improvement & User Enablement

  • Onboard and enable users through Samsara Academy, the knowledge base, weekly webinars, and quick-tip resources.
  • Pursue Samsara Professional Credentials and program expert workshops to deepen platform expertise.
  • Manage feature opt-ins and stay current on new platform capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Experience administering fleet telematics or SaaS platforms (Samsara experience strongly preferred).
  • Working knowledge of fleet safety program management and driver workflows.
  • Comfort with reporting, data analysis, and BI tools such as Power BI; familiarity with APIs
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage user access
  • Effective communicator able to train and enable users across technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred

  • Samsara Professional Credentials or willingness to earn them.
  • Experience with integration tooling and third-party connectors.
