The Quality Technician I supports manufacturing operations by ensuring products and processes meet quality standards. This position works closely with production teams to provide on-line quality support, conduct audits, perform inspections, and assist with continuous improvement efforts. The primary work location is Freeport, with occasional support provided to the Lanark facility as business needs require.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to)
· Perform Receiving Inspection, Out of Box Audits (OBAs), and Line Audits.
· Provide real-time quality support and respond to line calls.
· Conduct product and process inspections to verify compliance with quality standards.
· Support pilot runs and quality validation activities.
· Coordinate non-conforming product through disposition processes.
· Utilize testing equipment and maintain calibration activities.
· Collect and analyze quality data and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
· Work collaboratively with Operations to resolve quality concerns and drive continuous improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Previous experience in a quality role preferred.
· Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
· Elkay/Zurn Elkay manufacturing knowledge preferred but not required.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
· Strong product knowledge and part identification skills are beneficial.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to balance quality requirements and operational needs.
· Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Reports to: Quality Supervisor
Location: Freeport, IL with time split between Freeport and Lanark facilities
1st Shift position. Start time may vary based on production needs and candidate experience but will primarily support the operating hours of the production line.
The compensation range identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on compensable factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training, and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.
The Salary Range: $23.91-31.09 Hourly Non-Exempt
