Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Are you passionate about financial markets? Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Analyst to join our Securitisation Finance team in Sydney. In this role, you will support the origination, structuring, and execution of securitized transactions, as well as ongoing monitoring and surveillance, across major asset classes, delivering high-quality products and services to our clients while generating strong revenue and favorable risk-return profiles for RBC. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, collaborate with stakeholders and provide innovative insights to support RBC’s client base.

What will you do?

  • Support business generation within specific asset classes funded through US conduits and on the RBC balance sheet.
  • Assist with the origination process, ongoing management and monitoring of existing transactions, producing marketing materials for existing and prospective clients, and preparing detailed credit write-ups containing transaction terms and conditions, data analysis and other analytical support.
  • Coordinate the review and approval process with Group Risk Management, participate in comprehensive due diligence activities with clients and servicers, and prepare thorough due diligence reports.
  • Work with clients and legal counsel to develop and negotiate transaction documentation, liaising with rating agencies to secure transaction approvals, preparing annual transaction renewals, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Allocate your time across origination support and execution support, reporting, surveillance, quantitative analysis, and compliance activities.
  • Identify operational risks and control deficiencies is essential, along with strict adherence to firm policies and prompt escalation of any compliance concerns.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and industry qualifications applicable to the Securitisation finance sector.
  • Solid understanding of credit markets and fixed income instruments.
  • Sound mathematical knowledge and an ability to think logically through problems.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, across a range of tasks and mediums.
  • High proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • An ability to work effectively both individually and within a team that may be geographically dispersed.
  • An understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the role.

Nice-to-have

  • MBA or BS in finance, economics or mathematics preferred but not required.

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best - progressive thinking to keep growing and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.  We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses, flexible benefits and competitive compensation
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
  • Opportunities to work with the best in the field
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
  • A world-class training program in financial services.
