Overview
Kimley-Horn is seeking a Project Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join the Reno, NV office! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze and produce deliverables for our clients.
- Project type will vary but may include Advanced Technology, Industrial, Micro-electronics, Mission Critical, Hospitals, Central Utility Plants and more
- Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ requirements for the future built environment.
- Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
- Perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various project tasks as required, such as dry-mechanical, wet-mechanical, plumbing/process systems. Tasks could include developing floor plans, flow diagrams, schedules, details and calculations such as pump head calculations, pipe sizing and distribution, and selection of equipment, etc.
- Support our collaboration of multi-discipline Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing/process piping, Instrumentation & Controls, Telecom/Technology team specifically working on large scale Building Systems engineering designs.
- Manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance
- This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects
- You will flourish on both building meaningful internal and external professional relationships
Qualifications
- 3+ years of related experience
- Proven design experience with comfort and HVAC systems and related controls
- Proven design experience with plumbing systems including water, sewer, and gas
- Experience mentoring and coordinating the work of EITs, designers, and other technical staff on various mechanical or multi-discipline projects
- Able to manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking ability
- Ability to work individually or in a multi-discipline team
