Magnolia Companies is seeking a Helper to join our Utilities Department. This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual with at least 2 years of experience who is looking to expand their skills, gain hands-on experience, and grow within the utility field. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, willing to learn, and comfortable working as part of a team in a hands-on environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist tradesmen and foremen with daily underground utility work
- Assist with underground piping and sewer installation
- Assist with digging ditches and manholes
- Assist with preparing work areas for underground utility installation
- Load and unload materials and deliveries
- Assist with jobsite cleanup and demolition
- Continuously shovel wet material as needed
- Perform flagging as directed
- Assist with confined space work
- Follow directions from foremen and tradesmen
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures
Requirements

- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including digging, lifting, and shoveling
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to pass a Flagger written test; training will be provided
- Ability to work in confined spaces as required
- 2 years of construction experience preferred
