The City of Bothell is seeking a Public Works Maintenance, Lead - Wastewater to join the Utilities Division. This position serves as a key operational leader responsible for coordinating sewer and stormwater field operations, managing maintenance priorities, supporting emergency response, and ensuring reliable infrastructure performance. 

The role provides field leadership through staff training, coaching, and workforce development while promoting safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient delivery of critical wastewater and stormwater services.

Recruitment information: 
  • Default schedule will be the following: Mondays-Thursdays (4/10) every Friday off (6:00 am - 4:30 pm)
What will you do in this position?
  • Coordinate daily operations and scheduling for sewer, stormwater, and related field crews, ensuring efficient maintenance, inspections, equipment utilization, resource allocation, and operational continuity.
  • Manage maintenance priorities and infrastructure reliability by overseeing preventive maintenance, repairs, regulatory compliance, environmental protection, and backlog reduction across wastewater and stormwater systems.
  • Support emergency response and field operations by coordinating responses to sewer backups, spills, drainage issues, infrastructure failures, and other operational emergencies.
  • Train, mentor, and develop staff through technical instruction, coaching, cross-training, onboarding, and reinforcement of operational, safety, and performance standards.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and workplace safety by promoting adherence to Washington State DOE, King County Industrial Waste, CMOM, and City standards while enforcing safe work practices, PPE use, and permit requirements.
