Dynamic Senior Developer, Digital Solutions position available, 6 months Fixed term position.
Based at the Melbourne CBD campus (Hybrid role), and Flexible Working Arrangements

About the Portfolio
The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.
The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) function, provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. The Role
The Senior Developer – Digital Solutions is responsible for the end-to-end analysis, design, development, implementation and support of digital solutions, with a strong focus on front-end engineering, user experience and modern web application development. The role works closely with stakeholders to understand user, business and service needs, applying human-centred design approaches to shape intuitive, accessible and scalable digital products, predominantly using Node.js, Svelte, React and supporting Python services where appropriate.
The position contributes to discovery, prototyping and iterative solution design, delivers high-quality development outcomes, showcases solutions to stakeholders, and provides support and coaching to other developers. Familiarity with developing AI-enabled applications and integrating AI capabilities into digital experiences is welcomed.
Skills & Experience
Extensive experience in enterprise front-end and web application development for enterprise digital products, including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation and support, with a strong of the SDLC.
Substantial experience in debugging and troubleshooting complex technical problems, with effective progress communication and fault escalation where required.
Demonstrated experience applying human-centred design approaches in discovery, analysis and solution design, including translating user, business and service needs into effective digital experiences.
Well-developed problem-solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills and demonstrated ability to apply policies, procedures and systems as required.
Advanced communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated ability to build productive relationships, provide guidance to others, and work effectively within complex organisational environments.
Strong experience with Node.js and substantial experience with Svelte and/or React for the development of contemporary web applications, together with some Python capability for supporting services, integrations or automation.
Experience working with REST APIs, integration patterns and modern web development practices, including performance, usability, accessibility and responsive designs.
Familiarity with developing AI-enabled applications, integrating AI services, or applying AI capabilities to improve digital experiences will be well regarded.
