This role sits within the Professional Education arm of Talent Solutions which delivers both commercial and apprenticeship trainings, aligned to CII qualifications in Insurance and Regulated Financial Planning. 
The Reporting Analyst role will work alongside the Operations and Compliance teams to provide reporting and analysis for the business, including benchmarking business performance against industry statistics.
Reporting must be designed with the government funding rules in mind. The candidate must be able to read and understand complex government documentation, draw appropriate conclusions using these documents alongside the company funding rules interpretation documents.

Reports to be run from one main source (but occasionally historic data to be accessed & combined) to create appropriate visual and informative dashboards for all stakeholders. Odata, excel functions, formulas & VBA knowledge is essential. Ability to manipulate and analyse data is essential as this will inform senior management teams decisions / focus.

This role is primarily home-based with quarterly travel for team meetings. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Use Aptem (learner MIS), Thrive (LXP) and any other platforms to run reports through their in built reporting and Odata feeds
  • Maintain student and DLS data in line with policies and procedures
  • Use of intermediate to advanced functions and formulas on Excel to interrogate and present data
  • Use of OData feeds, Power BI, API and other integrations
  • Detailed anlaysis and reporting
  • Research, investigation and thorough understanding of governement docuementation - make use of said information to support and inform reporting. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all analysis and reporting
  • Cross collaborate with colleagues in the wider ProfEd function
  • Occasional attendance at company events or meetings may be required
  • Support colleagues with Excel and other data platfroms to increase team knowledge, useage and efficiency. 


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Strong experience of working in the Government funded education (apprenticeship) space.
  • Knowledge of previous Skills Funding Agency or current Department for Edcuation [DfE] funding regulations, essential. 
  • Understanding of the post-16 education sector 
  • Experience of working with Financial Services Qualifications and/or in a regulated environment, helpful
  • Strong working experience with Excel including advanced functionalities
  • Experience using OData / APIs and other integrations, helpful
  • Confident report writing and presentation skills, advantageous 
  • Experience working with Aptem & Thrive platforms, helpful
  • Ability to work independently, attempt autonomous decision making and problem solving, essential
  • Excellent administrative and organisational abilities 
  • Able to work in a discreet, confidential matter as required
