Description
Be the face of the fun at the ice rink! Join Boise Parks and Recreation as a Rink Supervisor where you'll help create a great experience for every guest. In this role, you'll lead operations at the skate rental counter, provide exceptional customer service, assist with daily rink operations, and support the team wherever needed.
This part-time, at-will position is open to applicants 18 years of age and older and works up to 19 hours per week. If you're dependable, enjoy working with people, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is a great opportunity to make an impact while having fun on and off the ice!
Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training- One year experience working with the general public in a customer service type setting.
Applicants must be able to pass:
- City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
Performs cash handling duties.
Performs regular janitorial duties.
Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.Knowledge of:
- Basic computer programs.
- General customer service techniques.
- Basic hockey and figure skating equipment.
- Ice rink operations.
- Interact with the general public and effectively handle complaints
- Operate skate sharpening and repair equipment
- Make simple mathematical calculations
- Display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations
- Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance
- Complete assignments in a timely fashion
- Understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance
- Perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- One year experience working in an ice rink facility providing supervision or direction to employees.
Physical Efforts
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, occasionally lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds and rarely lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds. Also, the employee is frequently pushing/pulling up to 10 pounds, occasionally pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds and rarely pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds. The noise level is occasionally moderate. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will sit, stand, walk, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
Working Environment
The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, areas of dust, odors, mist and gases or other airborne matter. Employees are exposed to mechanical hazards. Work includes protected exposure to chemicals.
This position works: evenings and weekends as required.
