Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for carrying out the maintenance plan and tool improvement plan.
  • Responsible for maintaining tooling indicators up to date and for establishing follow-up programs for all the information related to improvements and the reduction of overtime, scrap and down times.
  • Establish maintenance routines per every single die, improve tool room resources.
  • Administration of spare parts for hard tools, and coil shop tooling.
  • Oversees personnel responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, and instruments.
  • Coordinate and schedule activities at both annual and semi-annual shutdowns.
  • Facilitates daily meetings and communicates daily goals/objectives with team members.
  • Establishes objectives, measures performance and corrective action with staff as needed.
  • Train toolmakers on maintenance tasks and help the department with any new projects, drawing check.
  • Create an environment free of unsafe conditions for the tool room staff. Highly oriented to implement EHS standards.
  • Direct/supervise employees, work in fast paced environment with constant change and be open minded.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships all internal customers including but not limited to production area, maintenance, coworkers and supervisors.
  • Responsible to maintain and control all tools, dies and coil shop tooling for HVAC and stamping machinery.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requires at least 5 years related experience.

Requires strong mathematical and analytical abilities.

Able to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams. Able to efficiently and accurately set-up and operate to exacting tolerance manual or CNC machine tools.

Able to diagnose complex progressive, forming and stamping dies.

Ability to accurately use measurement devices.

Be available for overtime and/or weekend work as required to meet the needs of our customers.

Basic Microsoft Office knowledge. SAP knowledge preferred.

Experience with coil shop tooling.

Previous customized fabrication experience a plus

Detail Oriented and ability to problem solve effectively
