Responsibilities
Scheduling
- Schedules all surgical procedures, necessary equipment, and pre-op testing to ensure a smooth surgical course for the patient.
- Coordinates patient scheduling with the surgeon's office, and confirms bed availability for inpatient admissions.
- Schedules all procedures per blocked scheduling requirement and is proactive in filling all daily surgical slots.
- Interacts with the physician offices and other involved departments to obtain the necessary patient information and records to assure a safe surgical procedure.
- Consults with other departments, as needed and appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's pre and post-surgical needs.
- Performs daily chart audits.
- Assists with Pre-op Interview Patient Flow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of similar experience required.
