Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Radiation Therapy: Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely according to radiation oncologist instructions and treatment plans.
- Simulation & Fabrication: Perform complex treatment simulations, assist in treatment planning localization, and fabricate custom immobilizations or shielding blocks as required.
- Equipment Calibration & QC: Prepare and perform routine quality control and assurance tests on linear accelerators and therapy systems prior to patient administration.
- Radiation Safety: Adhere strictly to ALARA principles, radiation safety regulations, and proper infection control protocols.
- EMR Integrity: Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical treatment records within the oncology information system.
- Interdisciplinary Care: Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, and oncology nursing staff to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
- ARRT Certification: Active certification and registration in Radiation Therapy — ARRT (T) — through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [Required].
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
- State Licensure: Active, unrestricted State Radiologic Technologist / Radiation Therapist license [Required].
- Radiation Therapy Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of dedicated clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist [Required].
- Travel or Technical Background: Minimum of 1 year of contract/travel experience OR verifiable post-graduation clinical work experience utilizing Varian linear accelerators and the ARIA Oncology Information System [Required].
- Systems Experience: Hands-on experience with Varian TrueBeam, Trilogy, and ARIA platforms [Highly Preferred].
- Excellent precision and technical proficiency in patient positioning and portal imaging verification.
- Strong knowledge of radiation physics, dose delivery, and radiation protection standards.
- Compassionate patient communication and active multi-disciplinary teamwork.
