Description

Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Marine Turner to join our client's team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for machining, repairing, manufacturing, and refurbishing mechanical components used onboard vessels and within marine systems. The role mainly supports ship repair, maintenance, overhaul, and refit projects.

The Marine Turner will operate conventional and/or CNC lathes to produce precision-machined parts according to engineering drawings, technical specifications, and dimensional tolerances. The position requires strong technical accuracy, practical problem-solving skills, and a consistent focus on quality and workplace safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform turning and machining operations for vessel repair, maintenance, and refit projects.
  • Repair, manufacture, and refurbish shafts, bushings, flanges, sleeves, bearing housings, and other mechanical components.
  • Operate conventional and/or CNC lathes and inspect completed parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Read engineering drawings, machining instructions, and technical specifications accurately.
  • Maintain machinery, tools, and workshop equipment while following quality and safety procedures.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Turner, Machinist, or Lathe Operator in a marine, industrial, or heavy engineering environment.
  • Practical experience in mechanical repair, maintenance, and component refurbishment.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Good knowledge of machining processes, dimensional tolerances, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or within a team.
